Description
Macallan Rare Cask is a Speyside single malt that is drawn from a wide range of casks, with a high proportion of first-fill sherry-seasoned American and European oak. Each release is a blend created to showcase complexity and depth.
Expect rich dried fruit, spice, dark chocolate and oak, with a long, smooth finish. Scotch whisky must be matured in oak for at least three years in Scotland, and the type of cask used plays a large part in shaping the final flavor.
Sip it neat or with a drop of water. It is a good bottle for gifting and collecting. A few drops of room-temperature water can open up the aroma, and it pairs well with dark chocolate, smoked salmon or aged cheese.
