Description
This single malt Scotch whisky from the Benrinnes distillery in Speyside was hand-selected and bottled from a 1988 cask by the independent bottler Mackillop's Choice. Benrinnes malt is prized for its weighty, meaty character.
Expect dried fruit, sherry and warm oak spice, with a rich, long finish. Scotch whisky must be matured in oak for at least three years in Scotland, and the type of cask used plays a large part in shaping the final flavor.
Sip it neat or with a drop of water. It is a rare, long-matured bottle for collectors. A few drops of room-temperature water can open up the aroma, and it pairs well with dark chocolate, smoked salmon or aged cheese.
