Description
Mackillop's Choice Dalmore 1986 is an independent bottling of Highland single malt distilled at The Dalmore in 1986 and matured for decades before release by Mackillop's Choice. Independent single-cask bottlings like this let drinkers taste the distillery character without the standard brand finish, and bottles from the 1980s vintages are increasingly hard to find.
Dalmore from this era is known for orange marmalade, dried fruit, chocolate and warm oak spice. Expect a rich, mature nose, a full palate with citrus and spice, and a long finish with lingering oak and sweetness.
Sip it neat and slowly, adding water only a drop at a time. It is a bottle for a collector or a special occasion. Give it time in the glass, since older malts open slowly and reward patience.
