Description
Padre Reposado is a tequila aged in bourbon barrels for about eight months. It shows slight vanilla on the nose, with roasted pecan and dried herbs on the palate.
Rested in oak, a reposado sits between a blanco and an añejo. Typical of the style, expect cooked agave and light vanilla on the nose, soft caramel and gentle baking spice on the palate, and a smooth, mellow finish. The short time in oak softens the edges without hiding the agave, which is why reposados are a favorite for both sipping and mixing.
Sip it neat or over a large cube, or use it in a margarita, a paloma or a tequila Old Fashioned. It pairs well with grilled meats, carnitas, mole and tacos al pastor.
