Description
Tequila Ocho Old Fitzgerald Cask Añejo is an añejo from the Camarena family's Tequila Ocho, matured in Old Fitzgerald bourbon casks, which adds soft grain sweetness to the agave.
Aged in oak, an añejo trades fresh agave bite for depth. Typical of the style, look for vanilla, caramel and toasted oak on the nose, dried fruit and warm spice on the palate, and a rounded, lingering finish. Longer time in the barrel gives an añejo more color and a richer, more spirit-forward feel than younger tequilas.
Best sipped neat at room temperature or over a single large cube, in a snifter or Glencairn glass. It also makes a rich tequila Old Fashioned. Dark chocolate, aged cheese or a good cigar are classic partners.
